Baobab , or better known as “ The Tree of Life” is a wonderful African tree, with a huge hollow trunk, a holy tree for people from Senegal. This awesome African icon seems to connect sky and heart, because of its size: 20 meters high and 10 meters wide.
Some Italians know Baobab related to the song Azzurro by Paolo Conte (which scored a big success with the singer Celentano), in the part “Cerco un po' d'Africa in giardino, tra l'oleandro e il baobab” ( I look for a bit of Africa in my garden, between the oleander and the baobab) ; others remember this tree in reference to the famous romance “The little Prince”.
Not long ago, also in West countries, it has been discovered that Baobab has healthy properties: nutritional and therapeutic, especially for the local population, so it is also called “Chemist’s Tree”. The precious essence of this tree is in its fruits, especially in the flesh. The flesh is contained inside a woody shell with coconut-shape, and it can dry out itself in a natural way on the tree. There is no need to extract it through the heat or freeze-drying techniques, and more importantly, there is no need to pasteurize.
For this reason, we can say that starting from a flesh, 100% natural, full of vitamin C, fibers and antioxidants, we are able to create a healthy ice cream, eco-friendly and with a refreshing floral flavor, and a citrus aftertaste. Our Baobab is available in a complete mix in powder, which requires only lukewarm water as additional ingredient. We are confident that it will be a trend in the season 2016, along with a higher demand of “green”, natural and healthy products.
